Health system review
It was very interesting to see with my own eyes what some communities in the most remote areas of our country are facing, like inproper or lack of sanitation facilities, bad roads, no television or radio coverage (Sesfontein), etc.
It is mentionable that despite difficulities faced by our personnel, some of them remains committed. Just wish to say to everyone out there, just be strong.

Video facilitation workshop
I could not attend the workshop itself, but there was some team building activities on Friday and I deemed it necassary to join them.
This exercise of throwing a rope to each other while you are telling the group what you have learned during the workshop and what do you commit yourself to do when returning to your duty station, was quite interesting.
The issue of the benefits of working together as a team was very clear when everyone had a piece of the rope in their hands illustrating a very strong team compared to when everyone dropped the rope.I really wish that the team should always maintain this positive spirit. My sincere gratitude towards the committed staff of the ministry who are devoting themselves to DVC activities on top of their own responsibilities in the absence of such structure on our staff establishment. Thank you so much!
Developing of Management plans workshop, Okahandja
The national directorates gathered in Okahandja from the 27th until the 31st of July 2009 to develop these management plans.
It was a very exhausting workshop and we had to work until around 19h00 everyday. However, it was at the same time also a very good learning experience, since it was important to understand how to set objectives, measures, targets and initiatives. One important lession that I've learned during the week was that if you cannot measure an objective, you cannot manage it!
My sincere gratitude to the organizing team and the consultants for a job well done. I also want to extend a warm word of thanks to our committed director as well as our deputy director for their strong leadership abilities. Last, but not least, thanks to everyone who attended this very important workshop. Am looking forward to see our ministry as the leading provider of health in Africa!
